There was a squished little frog with guts spilling out of it on the road this morning. On the way back home from the bus stop, Heidi remembered we passed it. She wanted to stop and STUDY it. So gross. Totally something I would purposely advert my eyes to normally. She is almost on the ground with it analyzing the detail. What we do for our kids....

Roll of the dice
Boden and I are finishing up our whirlwind tour of the midwest with
some supper in Michigan City. We have driven over 1200 miles in 2.5
days. We have been in 6 states: Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa,
Nebraska, and South Dakota (Nebraska and South Dakota were firsts for
Boden).
We experienced a fair in western Iowa, the marble game at two
campgrounds, a Lewis and Clark interpretive center, throwing sticks
and clay chunks into the Little Souix River, stand up teeter totters,
a miniature train ride, listening to the Tigers, among other things.
Our conversations have ranged from The War of 1812, to Jesus, to The
Civil War, to Indians, to how I lived in a dormitory in college, to
when mommy and I met, to how Great Grandpa Steenwyk always sneezed at
a particular moment in his day, to Slavery, to Lewis and Clark, to
what the USA was called when Delaware was the only state.
We ate at McDonald's three times, Perkins (I guess they all aren't out
of business), a Taco Bell/Pizza Hut combo, Bob Evans, and a place
called CJ's.
A lot of fun in a shirt time!
