potty news!

heidi came home from daycare with some exciting news! she pooped once and peed five times in the potty today at daycare!!!! only one diaper change all day! gotta love daycare if they potty train your kid, right? eric is wondering if we should send her the rest of the week so they can complete what they started ;) this is the first time she has really pooped on the potty. she has previously said it was too scary. over the last week she has peed three times on the potty and sat countless other times on the potty (to the point of aggravation on mommy's part, including some anatomy lessons on where her pee pee is and why her pee pee looks different than boden's and that she doesn't have to hold it (which i still haven't been able to convince her otherwise...) or stand up ;)). also, she has bi-passed the 'froggy potty' and training seat, preferring the real thing. not sure what has started this new push (she has been interested with a few successes for quite some time). interesting timing as we go camping next week.... guess camping is messy anyways, right? with the new push and eric and boden taking in a whitecaps game on monday, heidi and i went 'potty' shopping (i'll post pics later) and purchased a pack of underpants (which she is THRILLED with) and some poop (small candy bars) and pee (swedish fish) treats. long ago decided that i was just going to let her 'train' herself. we actually thought she would have done it long ago. i'm not getting my hopes too high as really changing her is not that bad, or so i've chosen to think (she tells us when she needs to be changed for quite a while now). can't help having a little hope build though....

before heidi goes to bed at nap time and especially bedtime, she has to have her room all picked up and things looking neat. this is very consistent. it is not a stalling technique. she really hustles as she puts things away. she is just 2.5 years old....

uvula

heidi was playing with one of boden's soft plastic lizards. she was bending the mouth wide open and trying to show it to boden. boden was less than thrilled saying - 'heidi! stop! i don't want to see that lizard's uvula!'
