walking!

one day before eric's bday and heidi turning 14 months, she took her first real steps......and mommy and daddy were gone! from the start, heidi has seemed to have taken to big papa, and guess she wanted to prove her point by taking her first four steps for him! mommy and daddy were out looking at trim, leaving the kids with big papa who is up here putting in a built in shelving unit in the basement with papa. this is how it went down - big papa was playing on the floor with the kids. heidi was a little ways away. she stood up, and walked four steps toward big papa. just like that. no fanfare. no coaxing. no prodding. just decided she'd rather try walking to big papa instead of crawling. big papa just nonchalantly brings it up at supper that night. eric and i both thought he was joking at first. took her out of her high chair to prove it. yep. it was true. she is doing it more and more now. afraid it won't be long till she is running..... we have yet to catch it on tape. will try to soon and get it posted!

What?

Boden was having a cupcake for dessert tonight. He ate the frosting
off the top and just part of the cake. Then he said he was done and
wanted bread. Normal, plain old bread.

pig tails

heidi's hair is finally just long enough for me to put it up in real
pig tails. too bad she doesn't like it..... pretty much anything in
her hair. she would just rather look thru her scraggly bangs that hang
infront of her eyes. just had this thought!!!!! oh no!! is this the
beginning of mom wanting her to dress/wear hair one way and her
another.....

read a good book lately?

so I've been connected to email on my phone for a couple months now.
thought I better get caught up with Eric and try this posting right
from my phone/email!

this is a pic of the kids reading together in the little black chair.
we've had this chair for quite a while. boden barely used it. when we
set it up at the brown house, Heidi immediately climbed up with a
book. No one told her that it was a perfect cozy place to read. boden
soon caught on. one of the many things his little sister has been
teaching him..... :)
