Role play

You all know Boden likes to roll play...

This is what Boden said this morning: "I am Caleb and Heidi is Logan"
when Boden wanted to climb into Heidi's pack-n-play.

Vintage

Boden was in he basement and he found a cassette tape. He asked: "Is
this gum?".

On a roll

Boden is playing outside by himself. This is a major step of
independence for him.

First of O ten

Boden has his bike out for the time this year!

Bumps

Boden got a double dose of fun yesterday. Not only did he have a
fever from some random illness, but he had a reaction to the ear
medicine he was on. He got lots of bumps all over.

conversation

this is a conversation i just had with boden:

boden: I have a favorite doctor
dad: is it dr schrotenboer?
boden: not exactly…rope

and boden returned to eating goldfish crackers.

medical report

this week heidi had her 12 month dr checkup. she is on track developmentally and is healthy. here are here numbers:

weight: 19 lbs 1.5 ounces, 15th percentile

height: 29.5", 50th percentile

head circumference: 17.9", 60th percentile

while there, lea anne had the dr check out boden's ears. over the last few weeks he has been constantly asking us to repeat and say things louder. he has also complained about his ears hurting. turns out he has fluid behind his ears, which is causing his ear drum to not vibrate properly. one ear has the beginning of an ear infection, but it doesn't appear that this is the cause of the fluid. we suspect that allergies may have caused the fluid problem. we have him on some medicine and then we are going to have him checked again in a month to see if it is any better. in the meantime we will keep on yelling.

Whippy dip

A week ago cousins Natalie, Jason, and Nathan came over for the
evening. One of the highlights was making customized milk shakes. In
this photo Natalie, Nathan, and Bode are waiting for their turn to
have it.

Heidi in the snow

Boden and I finally took Heidi out into the snow to play for the first
time. She was not a huge fan, and it will probably be a while before
we do it again....

Soggy

Below is what happens when you give boden pretzels and water for a
snack. Pretzels ended up in the water. He fished some out and put
them in his bowl. Then he got the wise idea that he should dry the
pretzels. Needless to say, that didn't work very well.

Babies

Heidi has gotten very attached to the babies she has gotten for
Christmas and her birthday.

Col

"brother uncle mike" invited boden to go sledding at their house. so,
I don't know if it is because his cousins were there or not, but boden
decided to go sledding all by himself! this is a major break through
in courage. this video is the 2nd time down.
